Bablu Singing
‘Bablu Singing' was a co-operative project that was developed during an international exchange workshop in Kolkata, India. Traditional Indian artists introduced the participants to a practice of painting combined with singing and performance during the workshop – this practice is called Patachitra.

During the workshop several Patachitra artists were invited to compose a new song describing their observations of the Abannindranath Tagore Art Gallery. Based in rural communities, some of the Patachitra artists had never been in a contemporary art
gallery before.

The new songs were performed and recorded and one of the recordings was played during the 'Potential' exhibition at the Abannindranath Tagore Art Gallery.
The recording was looped and played over a speaker once every half hour.
